Want the abridged version of my past work? Here are some projects I'm most proud of:
The Players Centre - Marketing and PR Manager - In this role I worked on designing, rebranding, social media campaigns, selling tickets and everything in between for Sarasota's first performing arts organization. I am most proud of the donation campaign I ran along with my social media associate to drive donations during the 2020 Giving Challenge, an event designed to highlight nonprofit donations over 24 hours led by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The pandemic had just started, so all the events that had been planned were forced to cancel and all events and day-of activities were moved online. We had already been posting about the date of the Giving Challenge for weeks leading up to it, utilizing photos and videos from past shows. We event asked community members to send us in their favorite memories of The Players along with why community theatre is important. These were posted periodically leading up to the event. The day of we posted more and went live a few times along with continuously thanking out donors throughout the day. We ended up doubling the donations we received from the previous Giving Challenge. I have plenty to share on the work I've done as this is my current position. Just let me know!
Companies Give Back by Hiring - I produce short web videos for the Business Observer website and YourObserver.com websites. The newspapers barely had an online and video presence previously. This was one of my first videos.
The Government is shut down, in case you missed that - The business newspaper I work for was lacking a blog, so I started one. The end goal is to have the reporters contribute often with short interesting stories to keep our website fresh with dynamic content. To keep the blog field populated I took it upon myself to add stories myself until the reporters could handle it.
Mobile Journalism Capstone Project - I spent an entire semester working with two other students to learn the best uses and practices of mobile journalism. We tested multiple apps and gear to decide what worked and what didn't. The project earned my group a lot of attention from University faculty and the journalism community.
Promotions staff at MIX 93.3- I worked as an intern for MIX 93.3 a station under Wilks Broadcasting. While there I completed basic office and house keeping tasks, took photos at events, and went to concerts and "van hits" to promote our station. While working for the station I learned the basic inner workings of a radio station and the way they function.
